For fractions, we will simply extend the decimal concept. In your study of fractions, you discovered that rational numbers, as well as whole numbers, can be also be shown on a number line. With the diagram below, you can select a positive numerator and denominator with the counters to choose a fraction. You can then see the fraction’s value as its position on the number line.
