Author's Corner

Hello, my name is Wayne Allen Bateman.

I would like to help you, a friend, a student, a child or other relative, or anyone else you know to learn mathematics.

If you are a primary school teacher, I would like to offer something to help you with math in your classroom. If you are a parent, I would like to assist you in helping your child with his or her school work. Please feel free to explore the tutorial, exercises, and educational games in this web site.

My academic background includes a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah. I have worked professionally as a software engineer for 20 years and more recently as a part-time instructor at Foothill Community College.

In 1980, a book of my authorship, Introduction to Computer Music, was published by John Wiley & Sons.

My background in mathematics is mostly daily reading and study of this interesting subject. This exploration has mainly covered the areas of calculus, linear algebra, metamathematics, abstract algebra, group theory, and topology. At all of these levels, I find my greatest challenge to be visualization of the concepts.

My main interests outside of math and science include music, digital photography, and oil painting.

Many thanks for visiting this web site and I hope it may offer something of interest, originality and educational value.
